Lucknow: Reshu Bhatia, former Regional Treasurer of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha in the Awadh region, brings nearly 27 years of organisational and social service experience rooted in the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP.
Over the years, Bhatia has handled several organisational responsibilities and has been actively involved in political campaigns, women’s empowerment initiatives and social organisations. Her experience spans booth-level organisation, election management, women’s mobilisation and community outreach.
During the 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, Bhatia spent nearly a month in the Gurugram Assembly constituency as a visiting organisational worker. She played an active role in the campaign that resulted in the victory of BJP MLA Mukesh Sharma and contributed to strengthening the party’s electoral performance in the constituency.
In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, she served as an in-charge in the Bettiah (Nautan) Assembly constituency, spending around three months working on the ground. According to her organisational profile, she played an important role in the BJP’s campaign and the victory of party candidate Narayan Prasad, who subsequently received representation in the state Council of Ministers.
Bhatia has also been actively involved in Uttar Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections from 2007 through 2022, working across different constituencies to strengthen the organisation and support BJP candidates. During recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, she served as the women’s coordinator for the Cantonment Assembly constituency.
Her BJP organisational journey has included responsibilities ranging from Booth President to Regional Treasurer of the Mahila Morcha. She has also participated in the monitoring committee associated with the Nari Shakti Vandan Abhiyan, focusing on women’s participation and outreach.
Her profile reflects extensive grassroots organisational experience, particularly in coordinating women workers and strengthening party networks at the local level.
Bhatia’s organisational engagement extends beyond electoral politics. She has worked with the Rashtriya Sevika Samiti for around 20 years as a women’s coordinator.
She has also remained associated with the Ekal Abhiyan for approximately 22 years and currently serves as its General Secretary.
Her association with Vidya Bharati spans around 17 years, during which she served as a minister and treasurer, including a ministerial responsibility with Vidya Bharati Purv Uttar Pradesh. She currently serves as a patron of a Saraswati Vidya Mandir.
Bhatia has held leadership positions in several social organisations. She is the president of Stree Foundation and has previously served as General Secretary of Care About People and coordinator of Bharat Raksha Dal.
She has also played an active role in WLM (Women Life Matters), an organisation associated with the wider Sangh network. Since 2025, she has been involved in organising a women’s-only Navratri Garba Mahotsav in Lucknow, positioning the event as a non-political social and cultural platform aimed at encouraging women’s participation and cultural engagement.
